Rick founded NewsUSA in 1987 and thinks, breathes and dreams new ways to make clients look brilliant.
“We are PR pros’ best friend,” he likes to say.
In fact, his early background in accounting with Deloitte & Touche in Toronto led to this realization: PR and advertising people were basically flying blind since no news feature service was then providing real, solid metrics to measure success. So he founded News Canada – NewsUSA’s forerunner – which he ultimately sold to MDC Corporation before heading here to work his same magic.
Rick is also the author of six books, including the three best-selling, self-help business titles Getting Started, Getting Money and Getting Sales.

Sharon has this uncanny knack for making everything seem easy.
Instrumental in the introduction of our latest service launches, the head of the New York office since joining NewsUSA in 2011 from NAPS is famous for three things: her savvy, her wit, and her candor.
Her journalism background – including Us magazine, the New York Daily News, TV Guide, and on-air commentator for ABC News’ World News Now – also makes her the ideal point person for what editors are looking for. And time permitting, she’s been known to write her own clients’ stories herself.

Richard joined NewsUSA in 2007 and was key in seeing our Social Syndication service through from its inception. Not surprising, since he’s an avid blogger.
PETER HALEY, VICE PRESIDENT
Peter made the jump to us in 2014 after more than a decade at NAPS.
He’s also been on both sides of the press-vs.-government divide, having edited local papers in New York and serving as (among other things) press secretary for the New York State Legislative Commission on Science and Technology.

Nora has more than 20 years experience in general and Hispanic media, and helped blue-chip advertisers see the wisdom of embracing bilingual marketing while at Viacom and NBCUniversal.

Richard J. Lerman – Vice President, Associations has experience in guiding both Associations and Corporations to increased sales and customer satisfaction. He is a business and trade association leader who has served in senior level leadership and management positions in a number of associations representing the Uniform & Corporate Apparel, Technology, Building Contractors, Chemical & Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Distributors and many other industries.
DAVID MASHEK, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
David Mashek is a veteran developer with more than 20 years of experience in both team and solo development and project management. His primary expertise is 4D Database development. Dave also has significant knowledge of Web development (including HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, SQL) and has done some mobile platform development. In addition, Dave has also provided many software and database solutions for clients’ in-house projects and maintained and converted mission-critical web applications.
CINDY O’HARA, MANAGING EDITOR
Cindy O’Hara is a journalist with more than 20 years of experience, 10 in the Washington, D.C. area. While there, she covered the energy, oil, and construction industries and has written for newsletters, business newspapers, and wire services. She has co-authored a novel, edited several manuscripts, as well as covered the online gaming industry on a freelance basis. She has been the senior writer for NewsUSA for 15 years.
